Description: 

The CMX course educates the students on the capabilities that can be unlock in a Cisco Wireless deployment providing extremely valuable analytics and traffic pattern analysis of the client radios within range of the wireless network, whether logged into the network or not. Large retailers, shopping malls, casinos, hotels, cruise ships, or entertainment and sporting venues can utilize this capability built into the Cisco wireless infrastructure to unlock this data to provide them with extremely valuable traffic pattern habits, shopping habits and density analytics. In addition this course will cover the deployment process to make Cisco Mobile Concierge services available to clients as well as designing and implementing a “Billboard Campaign” to provide the Layer 3 Mobile Concierge Services. This updated CMX course covers the latest location and analytics services available thru the Mobility Services Engine (MSE).

Upon completion of this course, you will understand:

  • How Location Analytics works
  • The importance and impact of proper AP placement, and its impact on location accuracy
  • The differences in three possible deployment models for location services, which include the impact on bandwidth at the LAN, WAN, and Internet levels of the deployments
  • How making changes in the number of clients being located or changing the cell size in the new location services calculator impacts the achievable accuracy
  • Bandwidth requirements and the load placed on the Cisco MSE
  • About analytics deployment and the most common issues faced with this type of deployment as well as where and what to look for to isolate the issue

  • Cisco CCNA® or equivalent work experience
  • Required Prerequisite Classes
    • Defining Cisco Wireless LAN Essentials v1.2
    • Deploying Basic Cisco Wireless LANs Ver 1.2
    • Deploying Advanced Cisco Wireless LANs Ver 1.2
    • Managing Cisco Wireless Networks with Prime Infrastructure v1.0
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Windows networking
