Linux Administration

Description:

Managing any system can be a task that is alternately challenging and tedious. This is certainly the case with Linux systems. This course will help students avoid the tedium and address the challenges by using the Webmin system administration tool. Webmin is a browser based tool that is not specific to any version of Linux or UNIX, but works equally well with all of them.

Students will learn to handle basic system adminstration tasks such as filesystem setup, user and group management, and software installation. We will also cover administration of basic network services including: file sharing with other Linux and Windows based systems, E-mail setup and processing, and configuration of the Apache webserver.
