FlexPod Implementation (FPI)


Description: 

This new course is an upgraded consolidation of two other FlexPod courses from Fast Lane: FlexPod for VMware Essentials (FPVE) and FlexPod for VMware Design and Implementation (FPVI). For this course, content and lab exercises have been improved and streamlined to enhance the learning experience. Upgrades include the addition of Clustered Data ONTAP content and lab exercises, and information that is compliant with the latest Cisco Validated Designs.

Course Content

This 3-day course provides you with hands-on experience installing and configuring the base infrastructure components of FlexPod. By the end of this course, you will have a detailed understanding of FlexPods architecture, the infrastructure components and base configuration. You will gain insight into the various hardware configurations supported by FlexPod and how those components integrate. This course will explore key FlexPod architectural components, options, and tools including:

  • Compute
  •          Cisco Unified Computer System
  •          Service Profiles
  • Converged Infrastructure
  •          Cisco Nexus 5500
  • Storage
  •          Data ONTAP 7-Mode
  •          Clustered Data ONTAP
  •          Data Storage Applications, Tools, & Best Practices
  • Hypervisors
  •          VMware ESX
  •          Microsoft Hyper-V

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to define the FlexPod reference architecture, solution components, and understand its inherent benefits. You will also gain hands-on experience installing and configuring a base FlexPod.
